TDC Hardware · Bulk supply & OEM projects
Build a commercial door hardware schedule around the hinge footprint, bearing arrangement and pin requirement. Compare TDC plain-bearing, ball-bearing and heavy-weight catalogue patterns before confirming the exact drawing for the door and frame.
The range includes square and radius corners, removable and non-removable pin descriptions, and several footprints for standard or heavier-pattern hinges. Provide the door dimensions, weight and expected use so the selected configuration can be reviewed with the order.

Footprint, bearing and pin
Compare 3.5″ × 3.5″ and 4″ × 4″ catalogue footprints. The CH size table lists plain and 2BB variants at the corresponding thickness.
Choose the required 4.5″ × 4″ or 4.5″ × 4.5″ footprint, then check the thickness and bearing arrangement against the door preparation.
The CH size-family catalogue lists 4BB heavy-weight variants, including NRP entries. Compare the 4.6 and 4.8 mm thickness entries with their respective footprints.
The individual model descriptions identify several plain-bearing and 2BB patterns with removable or non-removable pins. Use the full model reference to confirm the configuration.
The individual model catalogue describes six heavy-duty footprints with four ball bearings and square corners. Request the model-specific drawing for the intended door assembly.
The commercial PDF identifies CHS stainless-steel lines. Compare stainless steel hinges and ask for the material and size of the required variant.
Separate the family from the exact model
The CH size-family table and the individual CH/CHD model descriptions use different reference systems. Keep the full designation with its source drawing; do not infer that two similar codes are interchangeable.

| Family | Nominal footprint | Leaf thickness | Catalogue bearing / pin entry |
|---|---|---|---|
| CH3535 | 3.5″ × 3.5″ | 3.1 mm | Plain / 2BB |
| CH4040 | 4″ × 4″ | 3.3 mm | Plain / 2BB |
| CH4540 | 4.5″ × 4″ | 3.4 mm | Plain / 2BB |
| CH4545 | 4.5″ × 4.5″ | 3.4 mm | Plain / 2BB |

| CH5045HW | 5″ × 4.5″ | 4.8 mm | 4BB / 4BB-NRP |
The following configuration matrix follows the separate individual model descriptions. Bearing and pin labels describe the catalogue arrangement; project suitability still depends on the specified assembly.

A hinge choice within a hardware schedule
Commercial door schedules often need several decisions at once: footprint, bearing configuration, leaf thickness and the selected pin arrangement. Start from the door and frame preparation, then review the opening’s intended use and hardware requirements.
For heavier or more frequently used doors, discuss the heavier-pattern and bearing configurations against the door size, weight and installation drawing. Confirm the hinge number, spacing and required performance documentation for the assembly.
Use the full model designation
For interior residential hardware, compare residential hinge patterns. Where a closing-return function is required, review spring hinges as a separate functional selection.
Finish and evidence follow the selected model
The CH catalogue and individual model descriptions identify steel patterns. Confirm the base material and exact configuration with the selected drawing.
Discuss satin nickel, chrome, brass-tone, bronze-tone, black or primed catalogue finishes against the project reference. Confirm finish availability for the actual model.
Provide any standard, listing or test-document requirement with the enquiry. A generic product-family description is not a substitute for the required model and report correspondence.

From a hardware schedule to an agreed specification
TDC supports hinge enquiries from door manufacturers, hardware distributors and project buyers. Send the hardware schedule or selected model reference, drawing requirements and order quantities for review.
For changes to the geometry, finish or packaging, discuss the OEM and custom hinge process. Agree the drawing revision, sample approval and inspection documentation with the quotation for the required configuration.
Answers for procurement and design
Provide the full model reference, footprint, thickness, corner shape, bearing and pin arrangement, fixing details, door dimensions and weight, expected use and any project documentation requirements.
They identify different bearing arrangements in the named model descriptions. Compare the exact drawing and discuss the intended door assembly and operating conditions when choosing a configuration.
NRP describes a non-removable-pin configuration in the supplied catalogue. Specify it together with the full hinge model and the project requirements rather than assuming it applies to every pattern.
The CH size families and individual CH/CHD model descriptions use different reference systems. Request a confirmed model and drawing comparison before treating two references as equivalents.
Match the required standard, listing or test document to the actual supplied model and configuration. Provide the project requirement with the enquiry so the relevant documents can be reviewed.
Send the door and hinge schedule, selected model or drawing, finish and pin options, quantities, packaging and required documents. TDC can review catalogue and OEM supply requirements for the project.
Provide the door and hardware requirements
Send the CH or CHD reference, footprint, thickness, corner profile, bearing and pin requirements, door dimensions and weight, finish, quantity and packaging. Attach the hardware schedule and any project documentation requirements.
