Specify detachable hinges when a door or panel needs to separate from its frame for access, handling or maintenance. Compare TDC H-pattern, flag, flat-head and decorative lift-off designs before choosing the size and handing for your assembly.
A lift-off design separates at the hinge joint. The opening must leave enough space for that movement, so the hinge drawing, orientation and removal path matter as much as the overall dimensions. Send your door layout for model-specific selection and bulk or OEM supply.
Shape, joint & mounting
Compare the H-profile and the catalogue’s metric size options when selecting a removable door hinge. Check the joint orientation and the mounting surface against your drawing.
The catalogue groups flat, tower and crown-style heads in this family. Choose the visible tip style and size together, then confirm the installation drawing.
A flat-head pattern for projects requiring a separable hinge joint. Send the mounting footprint and pin arrangement for a drawing-based quotation.
Compare leaf widths, thicknesses and fixing-hole layouts within the flag-pattern family. The required removal direction and handing should be stated with the enquiry.
A compact spherical-head pattern with two listed metric footprints. Check the available mounting space and the door’s removal path.
The catalogue describes a 5″ × 3.5″ × 3.0 mm, 1BB decorative lift-off pattern. Retain CH009 as the reference when requesting the matching drawing.

Access and handling
Lift-off hinges are useful when the opening needs occasional door or panel removal, such as for maintenance access or handling a bulky assembly. The hinge joint must face the intended separation direction, and surrounding trims or hardware must leave the required movement clear.
Check the installed hinge pair or set as an assembly. State the door handing, normal opening direction and the space available above or beside the joint. If removal should be restricted during use, include that security requirement in the specification.
Specify the complete assembly
If the main requirement is a welded mounting method, start with the weld-on range. A weld-on hinge and a lift-off function describe different aspects of the specification.
Material and finish are separate choices
State whether the hinge will be used indoors, in a sheltered location or in an exposed setting. Ask for the material option available for the selected model.
Provide a finish name, reference sample or matching hardware photograph. Confirm colour and surface requirements before approving the order.
Request the final drawing, agreed material and finish specification, and any required inspection documents. For a material-led selection, also review stainless steel hinges.
A clear specification for repeat orders
For a standard hinge enquiry, send the series code and the size needed. For a new door design, include the mounting sketch, removal direction and available clearances so the quotation starts from the full assembly.
TDC supports drawing collaboration and custom hinge projects. Agree sample approval, finish reference, packaging and inspection requirements with the specification, and review the quality-control process for your order.

Answers for procurement and design
A lift-off hinge is a separable hinge design that allows the door or panel to be removed at the joint. The exact separation method, orientation and required clearance depend on the selected pattern.
They describe different joint arrangements. A removable-pin hinge separates by removing its pin; a lift-off design separates at the mating joint. Compare the drawing rather than relying only on the product name.
Use the selected hinge drawing to determine the movement needed to separate the joint. Provide the installed door layout and surrounding trim or hardware so the removal path can be checked.
State the door handing, opening direction and intended separation direction. Include a sketch identifying the frame and door sides so the correct joint orientation can be confirmed.
Provide hinge dimensions, mounting holes, door material, door size and weight, hinge quantity and spacing, and the removal requirement. The nominal hinge dimensions alone are not a load rating.
Send the standard series reference or your drawing, including the mounting and joint arrangement, material, finish, quantity and packaging requirements. TDC can review the requested configuration for an OEM quotation.
